Hanif Kureishi

Hanif will read This Door Is Shut for the first time – the story of a woman surviving the murder of her husband by the Taliban and a powerful reflection on contemporary Pakistan, enlightenment values, love and literature. The story appears in Red an anthology of new writing edited by Cathy Galvin. Hanif has been awarded the Chevalier de L’Ordre Des Arts et Des Lettres and a CBE for services to literature. In 2008 The Times listed him as one of ‘the 50 greatest British writers since 1945’ and in 2010 he was awarded the Pen Pinter prize.
