AS Byatt
AS Byatt is renowned internationally for her novels and short stories. Her novels include the Booker Prize-Winning Possession and The Children’s Book. Her most recent book is Ragnorak: The End of the Gods, a retelling of the Norse myth. She is editor of The Oxford Book of English Short Stories. A distinguished critic as well as a writer of fiction, AS Byatt was appointed CBE in 1990 and DBE in 1999.

Will Cohu
Will Cohu has been twice shortlisted (and once longlisted) for the Sunday Times EFG short story award. He has written extensively about the natural world and last year his Yorkshire-based family memoir, The Wolf Pit was shortlisted for the Penn-Ackerley Prize. Next year Chatto are publishing Nothing but Grass, a novel set in the haunted Wolds of rural Lincolnshire that describes a century of love and secrets connecting a grand house, and a small town. |

Joe Dunthorne
Joe Dunthorne was born and brought up in Swansea. His debut novel, Submarine, was translated into fifteen languages and made in to a film by Richard Ayoade. His debut poetry pamphlet was published by Faber. His second novel, Wild Abandon (Hamish Hamilton/Penguin), was published in 2012 and won the Encore Award. |

Cathy Galvin
Word Factory director Cathy Galvin is a journalist and writer. She co-founded the Sunday Times EFG short story award, has judged the Frank O'Connor international short story award, sits on the advisory panel of the Charleston-Chichester award for a lifetimes' excellence in short fiction, is associate editor of the Warwick Review and literary editor of Aston Martin Magazine. She edited Red, The Waterstones Anthology. |

Masterclass with Joe Dunthorne
Instinct & Experiment. Award-winning novelist and poet Joe Dunthorne will get you writing throughout this intensive 3 hour masterclass. You will leave with techniques that will help you break habits and introduce strangeness and surprise into your work. Maximum 20 writers. Venue: Waterstones Piccadilly. Cost: £60 per person with free entrance to the evening reading included. NOTE THE TIME: 2-5pm (before the Salon).
